About Toys for Joy
During the holiday season, it can be difficult for families to provide toys and food without sufficient funds and resources. This is true now more than ever with the impact of COVID. In the past 23 years, over 166,900 San Diego children and their families have experienced the hope of the Christmas season in a unique way at the annual Toys for Joy event where they receive free toys, groceries, and more. Just in the last year, 15,538 attendees were served by 3,870 volunteers. 69,000 lbs of groceries and 21,955 toys were distributed. Rock Church, together with schools, businesses, local churches, and community organizations partner to host the event each year.
With safety in mind due to COVID, we will be purchasing toys for you for our attendees. With each toy at a wholesale cost of $7.50, you can buy toys for 10 children for only $75.00!
Families are in critical need of food this season. $30 will provide a balanced meal and more to feed a family of four, retailing at a value of approximately $80. A gift of $150 will feed Christmas dinner and more to five families.
