Q: Do I need to register for the event?
A: No registration is needed and all are welcome!
Q: How can I get a toy for my child?
A: Toys are available for children ages 0 – 11 who are present at the event. There is free lunch, free groceries, activities and entertainment and more for the whole family.
Q: What can you do for children with special needs?
A: We have a wonderful experience customized specifically for children with special needs. To prepare for your child’s individual experience, please pre-register. Select your event site and click on the appropriate link.
Q: Do you have a flyer I can share?
A: Yes we do! Flyers for each event site can be found here [link to the page].
Q: How do I do a toy drive at my work or school?
A: Thank you for being a toy champion! We have flyers and posters you can use with any box or container you have available. Toys can be dropped off at any of our drop off locations by Sunday, December 2.
Q: What kind of toys are needed most?
A: Most children in attendance are boys and girls age 6-8. But we are always low on toys for ages 8-11. Toys should be new and unwrapped.
Q: Where do I drop off my clothing donations?
A: These can be dropped off at our church campuses on Sunday’s or at the Rock Thrift Store in Point Loma [hyperlink] seven days a week. Let them know your donation is for Toys for Joy.
Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?
A: Yes! You can request a receipt when you drop off your donation, or email us [hyperlink to [email protected]]
Q: Can my children volunteer with me at the event?
A: Due to the size and activity happening at the event, parents with young children can serve in trash & recycling or grocery area. These are the most flexible areas of the event and will provide a great environment for families serving together.
Q: Do I have to stay for the whole day or can I volunteer for a few hours?
A: There is a lot going on at the event so we ask that volunteers please stay for the duration of the time required. If you can only volunteer for a few hours, consider volunteering in Set-Up or Teardown as the hours are shorter.
Q: I cannot volunteer anymore, who do I contact to cancel?
A: We understand life happens and not everyone will be able to serve. No need to contact us – please be in prayer for the event.
